The very first thing I recommend is to take your selfie somewhere bright or use lighting if you can.
A dark photograph will get overlooked and doesn’t show the beauty of you!
If you are taking it outside, make sure you have the sun somewhere other than behind you as you don’t want to be bleached out by the sun. Move around and find a good spot where you can take a photograph without the sun causing anomalies on the selfie or make the picture too bright.
You could also find a slightly shaded spot if you are struggling in direct sunlight and move around until you get that sweet spot.
If you want to take a picture indoors and have bad lighting, try sitting near a lamp or close to the light to get a selfie that is bright enough.
Why not try some LED lights you can hang or wrap around something to give yourself some light.
Alternatively, check your camera/phone settings as you can also adjust the brightness/darkness and make the selfie look much better for your dating profile.
Quality
