Well, read on for some ideas on how to do Goth on a budget in style with some Goth upcycling ideas!
Furniture
Upcycling furniture is the most fun I have ever had. I purchased things either very cheap from Ikea for example or got it for free from freecycle websites such as Freecycle.org or Facebook local selling/freecycle pages.
Once you have something, such as a desk, for example, you can then get some cheap paint, or see if people are giving away old paint that they no longer need.
Fancy Beetlejuice style legs? Paint them white and then use masking tape to make the stripes and paint them black. Voila! A new look to your desk.
If you are able to, you can get chairs upholstered cheap, especially if you have the fabric already.
Going to places that sell items cheap such as B&M bargains are wonderful for catching cheap curtains that you can use to create other things, especially to upholster furniture.
Decor
You can create anything you have your mind set on. Things such as photo frames and fill them with pictures you can print off, using cuttings from magazines etc.
If you are crafty, you can create your own picture frames by printing off things you like. Make collages of things you like.
A personal favourite of mine is getting old bottles and jars, painting them and sticking on apothecary type labels and storing items in them. They look amazing and can be used to store loads of different things.
If you get a printer, you can order labels that are a4 sized and print off things to stick on everything you can think of! Using websites such as Picmonkey are great for editing to make them fit your page.
Garden Ideas
This is something wonderful, having a beautiful Gothic garden on a budget.
Firstly, you can get used palettes and crates and make lovely flower boxes and troughs and then buy seeds very cheap and grow some wonderful flowers such as roses, dahlias and even black/red varieties if you prefer black or red flowers.
Growing your own beautiful Goth garden is very easy!
Think about lighting up your garden with some wonderful solar energy ones that keep the costs low for power consumption.
When thinking of Goth Upcycling Ideas, I think about furniture in the garden that you can get for free and then paint them to your hearts content. I’ve always wanted a blood red and black garden furniture which I am on the lookout for the ideal furniture.
Electronics
Check Facebook marketplace or local groups as people are always giving away items they can no longer use, or selling them really cheap.
You can purchase a refurbished phone if you want to save on the pennies instead of buying a new one or getting an expensive contract.
If you want a specific colour scheme, you can paint your items another colour. There are specific paints you can get that you can paint on items such as fridge freezers, cookers etc and you can go from awful white to a nice black, red or even orange!
So perfect to be changing the items for your home!
Clothing
You have so much out there that you can alter and you don’t need a sewing machine. If you have one though, amazing! There is so much more you can do with a sewing machine.
I get band t-shirts very cheap and tear them up, then tie the back so they look ribbed. You can use old clothes and make new ones out of them and all you need is scissors, tape measure and some thread and a needle.
Youtube has a plethora of videos for creating your own Goth on a budget clothes. You don’t have to be constrained, think outside the box on this with your Goth upcycling ideas.
If you find something in a colour you don’t like, you can buy black clothing dye and dye it yourself.
Thrifting and surfing charity shops are always a good start to finding clothes. I always see clothes or fabrics I can use in charity shops.
Look out for sales also. If the item isn’t in your size, you can get it and find someone to alter it cheap, buy a bigger size as it is easier to resize from larger to smaller.
