CBD is the latest trend in the health & wellness space and it’s clear why. Many claims have been made about this substance and the products you can purchase, ranging from pain relief benefits to chronic stress solutions, and more. As with any new health product or supplement, you’re bound to come across different opinions posed as facts. This could make you purchase CBD products without knowing what they are or how they work – it could also put you off them for the wrong reasons.
If you’ve already tried different pain medication and you’ve spoken to osteopaths about your pain, and you’re still dealing with pain that is long term, then CBD is an easy product to turn to because you’ve heard all of the amazing things about it. It’s nice to make sure that you’ve covered every base before you turn to CBD, but it’s also nice to debunk the myths that come with it.
Read on and you’ll see three CBD myths that need to be busted wide open so you get a more accurate view of what to expect from this substance.
CBD Makes You High
By far the biggest CBD myth relates to its psychoactive properties. People are aware this substance comes from the cannabis plant, so they assume it will make them high. This won’t happen if you’re taking products only containing CBD as this doesn’t have any psychoactive properties at all.
However, if a product contains CBD and THC, then it will likely make you high. You can discover premium THCA items that make the user high when vaporized. The THCA turns into THC when used as a vape to give the psychoactive properties – it has nothing to do with CBD, so taking it alone will not make you high.
Taking CBD During The Day Will Put You To Sleep
Strong links and many scientific discoveries are linking CBD to calmness and relaxation. It’s one of the main benefits of this product that’s advertised all the time. Take CBD before bed and it will help you unwind and sleep better. This makes people believe that taking it during the day will do the same and they’ll fall asleep at their desks.
That’s where the myth begins. CBD will help you relax, but it responds to your body’s circadian rhythm (which is basically your sleep cycle). When you’re awake and alert, it can actually heighten your focus and concentration. Then, when you’re naturally starting to get sleepy, CBD works on your nervous system to make you more relaxed. Taking it during the day won’t make you fall asleep or feel drowsy – if anything, it does the opposite!
CBD Solves Every Health Problem
Many myths and misconceptions present CBD as a placebo or something that won’t work. This is ironic as you also have people who claim it works for everything. Some CBD companies will slap loads of health claims onto CBD to suggest it will solve every health problem you could have.
Don’t fall for this! As of yet, the evidence suggests CBD is definitely good at treating seizures. It’s been approved as a genuine drug for this – while Harvard Health also notes there are studies suggesting it can help with anxiety, insomnia, and chronic pain. If you see any other health claims about CBD, they’re usually false and based on zero evidence. It can help with many health problems, but it won’t be a miracle product that cures everything you’re dealing with.
Know the myths about CBD so you can be more knowledgeable. Don’t be tempted to buy health products based on misinformation – but also don’t be put off things that could benefit you because you’ve heard a few myths.
