Everyday Tarot Mini Review

Everyday tarot mini laid out with packaging and booklet

Many have talked about using the Everyday Tarot and when I saw there was a mini version being released, I had to purchase it. So here is my Everyday Tarot Mini Review.

Biddy Tarot is a very popular website for those that are learning tarot or looking to start a tarot business. I know over the years I have visited for one thing or another.

The creator, Brigit Esselmont set up Biddy tarot to help people learn tarot or the fundamental details of setting up a business. Through this, Brigit created the Everyday Tarot and then a few years later, a mini version.

I loved the colour scheme, but the Everyday tarot was lower down the list as there are so many tarot decks I wanted to purchase. So when I saw there was a mini version, I decided to get this instead.

I’d decided that I would write an in-depth review on this as there is so much to unpack with the mini version of the Everyday Tarot.

About the deck

Created by Brigit Esselmont, the owner and creator of Biddy Tarot to help you unlock your inner wisdom and manifest your future.

I’ve found a lot of newer tarot readers flock to this deck as it is simple in design, but the booklet is very easy to follow.

I can say that it was targeted to those that are new to tarot, as it is uncomplicated and easy.

It’s designed as a tarot deck you can use every day and in many ways. To bring you either manifestations and wisdom or simply enlightenment and information.

However, this is the mini version so it is almost pocket size. Along with a mini booklet to go with the set.

Packaging and quality

This is quite a chunky box as they have included a booklet in the form of a mini version of the full-sized deck.

They didn’t scrimp out on the packaging which a lot of mini versions do seem to have a cheaper quality.

A thick, card box but no top or bottom, a wrap-around style packaging. There is also a magnetic strip on one side to safely open and close it, keeping the booklet safe.

On one side is a strip of thin card to hold the book in place and then the other side is plastic (top and bottom too) and this keeps the cards safe.

I was side-eyeing the plastic as I am not keen on it and would have preferred it to be cardboard. But guess it keeps it safer for longer as card wears down quite quickly.

Easy to open and close but the edges of the plastic are a little sharp so do recommend making sure you are opening it safely.

Overall, the packaging is really great for the Everyday Tarot Mini!

I don’t yet have the original cards to discuss the differences, but will do a separate post on this when I get it.

Quality for the cards is not too bad. I anticipated them to be a bit thicker than they are. They have a matte finish so no sticking or sliding.

Gilded in a dark gold colour that has a bit of a glittery finish, rather than metallic. I really like that they have been edged. The mini decks tend not to be.

The design and illustrations

I really enjoy the design of this tarot deck as it’s predominantly purple which is my favourite colour. It’s also simple in that there are 3 colours throughout. Purple, white and gold.

Illustrations are beautiful but very simple. Faces for example, do not have features. They are just a block of colour. Usually white or gold.

Every person, animal or item has no features or detail either. They are very simple shapes with colour and that is it.

When you look through the Rider Waite Smoth style decks for example, you see a lot of symbolism throughout the cards, but with the Everyday Tarot, this is not the case. Symbolism has been stripped back and simple on the Everyday Tarot Mini.

They are easy to read and easy to take stock of the details on the cards. But giving that simplicity to it at the same time.

Guide book

The guide book is very simple and straight forward, like the rest of the deck.

Small, condensed but gives you relevant information relating to the cards. If you are new to tarot, it’s great to learn the basics with as they are very similar to the Rider Waite Smith based tarot system.

I like to use this on readings where I know there is going to be less in-depth information they require. Simple spreads for example.

The text is easy to read and has both upright and reversals on there. Which I like as sometimes I use reversals.

Rather than keywords, it provides a couple of lines about the meaning of the card and each card has it’s own page.

Short, simple and sweet comes to mind.

Review of the Every Day Tarot Mini

I’ve gone over a lot of information but I wanted to give a review of my own thoughts.

Quality-wise, it is really good, apart from the plastic. But that is the earth-conscious part of me, screaming out at the use of plastic.

You can also see the hoards of glue inside which I am not really a fan of either. But I guess you can only see it when thee cards are out.

It’s nice enough though, just not what I would usually grab for.

Cardstock is really good, what I would expect. Not too thick. Although there seems to be a slight bend to the cards. Sometimes this happens.

The guide book is really simple and I like it. Although I love my big tarot books full of loads of information, this is an easy-breezy deck and one you can pull out, give a quick read and off you pop.

If you want something a bit more insightful, this wouldn’t be one I recommend.

Size-wise, it’s really good! It’s large enough you can get a good shuffle going and see the cards clearly, but not too large that it becomes a pain for the smaller handed folk.

I prefer the smaller decks because I have really tiny hands. Hence why I purchased the Everyday Tarot Mini.

Shuffling is really easy and I have no issues with cards sticking together. They are also very easy to place in the desired spreads.

Can’t complain as I think the price is really good for the deck. I’d say it would be more pricey than it is!
