How To Clean Leather Boots: The Best Way
Leather lasts much longer when compared to other materials. It’s more durable and a better investment since you’ll be wearing leather boots for years to come. There are so many styles and different ways to incorporate them as well.

Step 1: Undo the Laces
Laces can get dirty as well. If your leather boots have laces, you should remove them before cleaning the rest of the shoe. Add them to your next load of laundry. Replacing the laces are usually inexpensive.
Step 2: Remove Debris
Rid the fabric of any loose debris. Walking around, we pick up mud, dirt, and otherworldly wastes. Use a soft cloth or a stiff brush to remove.
Step 3: Remove the Insoles
If you find that the inside of the leather boots is dirty or smelly, remove the insoles. Flush them out with water.
Step 4: Water and Soap
Simply mix warm water and dish soap in a bowl. Dip a soft cloth and wring it out. Use the cloth to wipe the exterior of the shoe.
Step 5: Spray the Exterior
Spray the soapy water off the exterior of the shoe. Be sure not to leave any soap residue on the shoe.
Step 6: Dry
Using a towel, remove as much water as you can. Slowly, let the boots dry. Be sure to avoid any direct heat or sunlight to avoid fading and cracking.
Step 7: Warm
To prepare for conditioning, warm the leather boots lightly. You can do this with a hairdryer or using sunlight. If you are using a boot oil, you do not need to heat.
Step 8: Condition
Conditioning helps to protect your leather. This helps you get the best value out of your shoe’s lifetime by avoiding stains and adding shine. There are many options and products out there such as oil, sealant, wax, or conditioners.
Use the product of your choice’s instructions.
Step 9: Buff
Let the boots sit for 15 minutes or so. Use a clean rag to buff the leather. This will add shine to your leather boots.
