Hay House is a company that lately have had some beautiful oracle cards released and I had to do a Review of Postcards From Spirit by Colette Baron-Reid which is a new addition to my collection.
The oracle cards that made me aware of Hay House was Moonology Oracle cards and from there I had purchased a few more.
Oracle cards are slowly starting to build up in my collection and I am enjoying using them.
Keep an eye out as they do offer sales and discounts suited to your needs.
Postcards from spirit is a deck you can use to give messages to others from the spirit world or answer something that has been on their mind. Connecting with your higher power, guides or whatever you believe, will lead you into the light of knowledge.
Anyway, let’s get into the review!
Review of Postcards From Spirit by Colette Baron-Reid
About the deck
Postcards from spirit was created to pass along communication from the sprit to you, using your beautiful deck of cards. This is a way to open a portal to the other side, says Colette Baron-Reid.
Colette Baron-Reid is a Psychic Medium and a TV personality, creating a range of beautiful oracle cards.
The Postcards from Spirit oracle deck is a range of postcards with specific communication on sharing advice and profound meanings.
You can shuffle and see what meanings come up, or you can channel the spirits around you so the about section says.
I really like these cards and for me, they really worked and been an insightful tool for communication and oracle readings.
Included with this deck is 52 cards, a beautiful box and also a brief instruction card to give you the information you need to read these cards.
Each card has a beautiful message for you or whom you are reading for in a format that is easy to read and understand.
Packaging and quality
One thing I love about Hay House is the quality of every single deck I own has been wonderful.
The packaging for the cards is always very sturdy boxes that seem to take a lot of opening and closing without any wear and tear.
Some boxes like this one are card with a nice cover of paper, whilst others have a plastic style cover.
What I like about the packaging is they open from the top of the box, rather from the face on. Which means I can pop them on my desk and grab them easily enough,
Postcards from Spirit cards are thick and matte, so no sticking together as you shuffle and I really like how easy they are to use.
One thing I wanted to point out, usually I review the booklet that comes with it, but this one did not have one as the cards are very self-explanatory.
There is a beautiful thick card folded into 4 sections which tells you about the cards and how to use them. You really don’t need any more information as the postcards are very detailed.
Typical of most Hay House decks, the cards are held together with a thin strip of white paper.
I really enjoy Postcards from spirit and the quality is wonderful.
The size of these cards is 5 1/2 inch x 3 3/4 inch and 1 inch thick.
The design and illustrations
Each card has been designed to look like a typical postcard from the early 1900’s. This is how you would imagine postcards to look like before we got the fun, loud and picturesque cards.
They are about the same size as you anticipate a postcard to be.
Each card has a similar aesthetic that they have a stamp on each right corner, postcard across the top and a stamp on the right also.
The middle has an image, usually cherubs or artwork you imagine from Sandro Botticelli for example. They are very much that style and era.
An aspect I enjoy about Postcards from spirit is the watercolour design, very pretty and in the tones you expect from 100’s of years ago.
On the other side, they start typically with ‘Dearest you’ and end with ‘loving you always’ or ‘loving you so very much’. How you would expect a loved one to sign off a card.
Overall, they are very lovely and detailed.
Review of Postcards From Spirit by Colette Baron-Reid
I don’t have oracle cards like this so when I saw them as I was really excited to purchase them.
I’ve just recently started collecting oracle cards and don’t have anything that is related to the spirit. Hence I purchased these and decided this is fitting for the task at hand.
What I really enjoy with this oracle deck is how beautiful they are but also the packaging to the cards.
I’d liked how the top comes off rather than the face of the box. Makes it very easy to open and use as necessary.
I’d taken upon myself to give myself a reading with Postcards from spirit and instantly knew I was going to fall in love with them and the card I pulled was very relevant to the person’s situation.
The quality is really good for both the packaging and the cards. I found them very easy to use and the cards are not overly huge. Some oracle decks have massive cards, these are not that large and very easy to use.
They look the part and my clients have enjoyed reading with these too. Giving a vintage look and can combine these with other tarot and oracle cards. Now I need more tarot cards with this vintage aesthetic.
Each card is positive, with a reinforcing quote on and they are very long and detailed, rather than short and sweet.
A random card I picked out says:
Dearest you,
Sometimes it’s wonderful to give, but there are times you might find yourself overgiving. Now might be a good time to check in and see where you might be cutting off the flow of abundance.
Let others give to you even if you are more comfortable being generous and being the giver, the healer, the rescuer. On the art of living, we sometimes overlook an important skill: receiving gracefully and with gratitude, without diminishing yourself or trying to deny vulnerability or bringing an agenda of equality to it. Receiving is hard for some people – maybe you?
You do not need a “this for that” in your exchange with others.
You are doing good in the world, let the world give back and support you. Then you can five up the old stories that have you convinced you have to do everything alone with no help.
Let your well be filled.
We all love you so much…
How beautiful is this example? It was one I randomly pulled out and felt it was very fitting for today, for me anyway. How does this resonate with you?
Even if you are not communicating with the other side, you can still use these cards as they are beautiful and go into so much positivity that sometimes we just need to hear. I know I do quite often.
I’m in a place where I am trying to give myself more self-love. But these cards do the job very well.
I couple these with Notes From The Universe on Love And Connection or Work Your Light cards.
What do you think about this deck? I am looking forward to see what else comes out in my readings and how empowering they are to my audience.
