I’m starting to find new releases and wanted to share the Tarot Vintage Lo Scarabeo. Lo Scarabeo is one of my top 3 publishers and they create quite a big chunk of my favourite tarot decks.
Now, the release date on Amazon UK is 24th June 2021 and available to pre-order.
If you want it now, Books Depository has already released it.
Llewellyn is releasing it in August
This is your standard Rider Waite Smith tarot but it has a look as if it is 100’s of years old. If you like the old vintage style looking decks, like they have been sat in the sun for years, then this deck is for you.
I have already pre-ordered this deck from Amazon and I am super excited for it to come. I enjoy tarot decks and have been searching for a vintage style but never wanted them. Then saw this being released and couldn’t help myself.
Tarot Vintage Lo Scarabeo – Released 24th June 2021 – New Release
It’s your typical 78 card deck, looks like the cards are the same as every other Rider Waite Smith tarot deck. The backs of the cards are the same as the Lo Scarabeo Pamela Colman RWS Tarot.
The back of the cards is important to many collectors of tarot decks. There are some prints I wish I could get my hands on that are no longer being printed, just because of the back of the cards. So I was glad to see the back is the same as my favourite RWS tarot deck, as above.
I’m hoping the quality is as fantastic as every other Lo Scarabeo tarot deck that I own, they are always amazing quality and really good card stock. Some publishers can be a bit hit and miss.
This is going to be around £20 depending on where you are purchasing it and Amazon do a pre-order price guarantee so sometimes you might end up paying a lot less, I know I have on things in the past.
I love the muted colour tone here, but what I love more is that it is a replica of the Pamela Colman Smith RWS tarot. But muted and aged looking.
It looks as though it has been well-loved so with a lot of use, it would look even more amazing. Just imagine with using it all the time for a year, it would look even more aged. I think this excites me more.
The packaging looks great, I do wonder whether it will be a larger presentation box, or the typical thin cardboard effort that lasts a week. I do hope it is a presentation box. Although I love making tarot card bags for my decks so I guess I can find a beautiful fabric to go with it.
I haven’t been excited for a tarot deck since Edgar Allan Poe tarot, so it’s nice to get the fluttery feelings for a new tarot deck.
I’m looking forward to reviewing this properly, so keep your eyes peeled for around 26th June as the post will be going up then, if you are waiting for a review!
There is a few tarot and oracle decks coming out this year, so keep an eye out on social media for when these posts go live! Exciting times ahead of us in the tarot circles.
