3 Simple and Effective Techniques for Breaking Out Of Stasis

Sometimes in life, we all just fall into a bit of a rut and find that we seem to be repeating patterns that are holding us back in one way or another.

It can be very frustrating to have the realisation that you are in this situation. For one thing, it’s not always clear what you should do to get out of such a situation, and to proactively move forward so that you can get back to experiencing the full potential and beauty of life.

Here are a few simple and effective tips for breaking out of a state of stasis.

Take the first step in dealing with a frustrating chore that you really want to avoid

There are all sorts of chores, tasks, and errands that we need to attend to on an everyday basis, but which nonetheless seem very daunting or frustrating upfront.

All too often, the end result can be what’s known as “analysis paralysis,” where the seeming weight, complexity, or tiresomeness of the task keeps you from actually taking action. This can directly contribute to you falling into a rut, but at the very least, it certainly doesn’t help you to escape from one.

Perhaps the best, fastest, and most reliable way of picking up momentum and freeing yourself from a state of stasis, is to simply take the first action you can, at once, in dealing with a frustrating chore that you really want to avoid.

That might mean doing some research to compare insurance quotes, for example, or it might mean getting started on a tidying up job around the home, even if you are daunted by the amount there is to be done.

De-clutter and organise your home

When your home is cluttered, disorganised, and messy, a natural consequence of that is that you will tend to feel overwhelmed and stressed.

On the other hand, if your home is tidy and well organised, and various dimensions of your life are “in order,” you have a lot more psychological energy drawing you towards being active and keeping on top of things, in general.

Especially when you are feeling overwhelmed and don’t know where to start with setting things right, getting your home de-cluttered and organised can be a brilliant way of getting things moving in the right direction.

Remove yourself from “virtual” space, and direct your energy outwards, instead

While it’s good to be thoughtful and introspective, it’s not good to ruminate endlessly, or to get perpetually caught up in your own fears, ideas, and concerns about life, and the world at large.

These days, it’s easier than it’s ever been in history to fall into “virtual” space more or less entirely, and to remain detached from the world around you. “Virtual space” here could mean the Internet, videogames, or TV, or it could just mean the tendency to sit around and get caught up in your own thoughts endlessly.

By removing yourself from “virtual” space, and directing your energy outwards, instead, you can begin to actively break away from your own mental traps, and can begin reorienting yourself, and taking pragmatic steps to improve things.
