If this pandemic has seen your mood dwindle, your blood pressure rise, and your anxiety increase, it’s time to consider how to find your inner calm. Losing your mojo for life can be soul-destroying. Even those people without any history of mental illness are finding their lives altering at such a dramatic rate that they are becoming low, depressed and stressed. If you are eager to relax more and take a step back to reflect on what you want out of a post-pandemic world, read on to discover how you can find your inner calm.

Meditate

When someone mentions meditation, you might roll your eyes assuming that they are a hippy, enjoy the sweet intoxicating scents of incense, or live a bohemian lifestyle. Meditation is now seen as a viable way to de-stress. Doctors across the globe are beginning to prescribe meditation courses as an alternative to medication to help patients relax and unwind. Meditate effectively and you could find that your sleep pattern becomes more consistent leading to your circadian rhythm becoming more regular again.

Yoga is a great way to combine meditation with simple physical exercise. Moving your body into new postures will help you to strengthen your core. Coupled with breathing exercises, you can learn to focus your thoughts more effectively, manage stress, and maintain a more even keel in stressful situations. You can also incorporate supplements into your routine and really find your zen with Area 52 to help calm your mind and give you the best results with yoga or meditation.

Pamper Yourself

With lockdown easing a little, you can now head to the hair salon and get a fresh cut and blowdry while wearing your face covering. Think about a whole new style for your locks or try going blonde if you are a brunette. The monotony of life has become unbearable for many, so changing up your appearance and doing something out of the ordinary can help you to feel more positive. When at home, think about treating yourself to some pampering treatments. Enjoy a long hot soak in the tub every evening, surrounded by candles while listening to some chilled out tunes. The latest shampoo and conditioner bars can be soothing and smell wonderful. Being organic and paraben-free they are great on even the most sensitive skin.

Do Something New

If you find yourself becoming consumed with your own negative thoughts, you need to actively do something new to focus your energies elsewhere. It doesn’t matter what it is, just make sure it’s an activity that you are enthusiastic about. Think about learning a new instrument, learning a different language, taking up a martial art or even playing online games. Some online games are free to play, whilst others give you the chance to win money. It’s important to check whether the site is licensed before placing any money on the table, however. You can check for casinos without a Swedish license (casino utan svensk licens) if you live in Sweden, for example, to ensure the site you’re playing on is safe. Some unlicensed sites come with certain benefits, but always do your research first before using them.

Being physically and mentally active can also help you to find your inner calm, especially if you become more social when doing so. Online forums and video meetings can help us unwind and chat with like-minded people. The old adage of a problem shared is a problem halved really is true. Finally, you might want to consider alternative methods, like herbal remedies and herbal medication. If you go down this route, you want to learn how to properly pack your bowl of weed to get maximum results.

You don’t have to be full of anxiety forever. While the pandemic is worrying, it won’t be this way forever. This too shall pass. Follow this guide and you can find your inner calm once again.

  1. Hi Sam, I’m a person that is happy in my own company, but I went through a phase when I was struggling. Our hiking group finished early, which was gutting and I’ve been working from home all summer, which normally I love, but then again normally my job is more varied and I’m dealing with people.

I find my inner calm walking the dogs in the hiils as the sun rises, I remember reading about the therapy of forest bathing and thought I do that anyway! But being out in nature is so calming and relaxing. I also pulled my running shoes back on and run severa times a week. Another good thing I have found is stay away from the news and Facebook, they are real soul suckers!
