After reading this book, I had to do my very own Arin Murphy-Hiscock The House Witch Review.

Arin Murphy-Hiscock has been in my life for over 10 years now, I purchased ‘The Way Of The Green Witch’ and I lost my copy, so I have been searching for a replacement, however to no avail. Then I found The Green Witch, The House Witch and The Witch’s Book of Self Care.

It’s a perfect book if you are the type of witch that loves to do things around the home and incorporate witchcraft into your everyday life.

I’m the type to get into bed with a cup of herbal tea and enjoy a good book. This certainly is the type of book you can do that with.

If you enjoy this book, consider The Green Witch and The Witch’s Book Of Self Care.

Now we are going to get into the review!

About The Book

This is a complete guide to creating a magickal space with rituals and spells for the hearth and home.

You can couple this book with The Green Witch and The Witch’s Book Of Self Care.

It’s a book that discusses topics on sacred spaces and how to cleanse, bless, nurture and put energy into everything around your home.

We tend not to think of this and create a small space. But if you wanted to do this all over, including your kitchen and bedroom, then this book is for you.

Pressing into deities for the home, but you can skip this section if you are like me and not one for worshipping deities.

There is also loads of wonderful folklore, this is a wonderful read on it’s own. I know I spend a lot of time reading about folklore so was happy to see it scattered throughout the book.

Food is my best friend, I create everything myself. I love to place herbs and other things into my recipes that create wonderful foods for my family. But also to help heal, guide or whatever poses infront of me and needs a little touch of working on.

So this book does offer some delightful recipes that I have tried myself.

It’s a wonderful compact book about your home and ho to include magick in your home.

Quality and Price

I purchased the hardcover version as I feel this is better made.

The cover has a textured feeling to it, which makes this really stand out and look older than it is.

I’ve noticed that the pages are really good quality, they are not the bright white, smooth type of page, rather they have a feel of parchment paper.

The text in this book is a dark plum shade and it is easy to read.

When I was shopping around for new books, I saw the paperback version and it was not as great quality as this. Even the paper was thin and whiter, like I mentioned above.

So for the price, the paperback is good. But personally, I like my hardcover books.

Text on the front is a lavender metallic shade on the hardcover version.

Surrounded by flowers and leaves, it looks really lovely.

My Thoughts Of The Book

Out of all the books I have, The House Witch has to be my top 5. I really enjoyed every part of this book and it is a book that I read over and over. Or I tend to pick up if I wanted to find something out and I know it was mentioned in here.

Although it doesn’t go into great detail, it has a lot of the key aspects down and gives you a basis to learn more.

Whether you are new or old to the craft, this book is really insightful and will make you think differently to things around your home. I know it did with me.

I enjoyed incorporating more of my craft into the home, rather than the kitchen and office like previously. It gave me so many wonderful ideas and learning so much in the process.

What I enjoyed the most, is just taking the time to read it. The ideas flooding me and then the options I had to create a more magickal environment for me.

I’ve found I am calm, relaxed and enjoying my home even more now!

There wasn’t anything in this book I did not agree with. I’ve found some books have elements I am sceptical about or can’t agree with. However, this was not the case with this book.

Final Thoughts

This really is a book for all walks, all stages of the journey and you can find something that you didn’t know, or something to benefit you.

I enjoy reading this and even now, I still read this. Years after I purchased it.

If you are purchasing this, I do recommend the hardbacked version over the paperback. Simply for the quality.
