Another month and we are here with a fabulous witch subscription box – The Freya’s Cauldron The Spell Keepers Chest which is one of my favourites!
This month the box is curated for Mabon, I really like that each month the box is tailored for a sabbat and the items relate to this directly.
Now this makes this particular box stand out as I haven’t come across another that is so tailored to the sabbats. So of course, this is a favourite for me!
Freya’s Cauldron does have an extensive range of items on their website and do highly recommend to take a look as they are affordable.
Now shall we get into this month’s box?
Freya’s Cauldron The Spell Keepers Chest August 2019
Harvest Oil
We are coming up to the time of harvest an this blend is the perfect oil to bring about your desires and harvest them.
We also receive a little booklet about essential oils, these are handy to keep and refer to in the future.
I always enjoy the oils we get every month as they have brilliant uses. You can use them in a diffuser, as a candle dressing oil or even use them during your spells.
Spell Candles
Every month we receive spell candles and I have a nice collection going on just from this box alone.
So this month we have Royal Blue, Green and Red. All associated with the sabbat Mabon and a time to get those wishes you really want.
Royal Blue: Peace, harmony, seep, dream work and wisdom
Green: Prosperity, money, fertility, abundance, good luck, harmony and faerie magick
Red: Passion, love, sexual energy, fertility, strength, courage, enthusiasm, will power, protection, lust and beauty
These candles can be used as spells as they don’t have a very long burn time, about 2 hours which makes it more practical to use. I prefer smaller candles as when you use these large ones, they take days to burn.
Herb Pots
Still loving the herb pots we get every month. Last month we had some wonderful ones in the Spell Keepers Chest and this month they are just as good.
We have 2 wonderful ones this month that I don’t actually have!
Catnip: You can use this for your cats, cats do love Catnip.
I will have to find a way to use this for my cat, maybe create a little toy for him as he does love a good catnip toy.
You can also use these for love sachets, I would create one for myself with rose and lavender. We can never love ourself too much, right?
Rue: Used mostly for healing, you can create a healing incense with this and help aid when you are feeling poorly. It;s coming up to autumn so we will see a lot of illnesses going round, Use this to promote healing.
Mabon herb blend
We love a herb blend, this is beautiful and can be used for many reasons, used in a charm bag or burning as required.
I know they like to keep their oils and blends a secret, which I admire that they keep their secrets. IT gives us that want to buy more. The blend I loved the most was the protection blend and will be purchasing this again.
Kambaba Jasper
I have Jasper in a few forms, but haven’t heard of Kambaba Jasper so was excited to see a new stone that I don’t have.
o this is for the heart chakra, used for peace, tranquility, courage, psychic work, healing and wisdom.
I like that you also receive a booklet about the stone that gives you loads of useful information on it.
Now this is imbued with the nourishing green energy, that is what I like to see!
Another wonderful stone to add to my collection.
What I really enjoy about these boxes is the stones we get are really random, not your usual amethyst which we all have in abundance.
Spell Kit
Again, another monthly feature is a spell kit we get with candles. This is great if you are learning about candle magick as you learn about the colours of the candles and a wonderful curated spell to go with them.
This month is a well being spell. We all need one of these from time to time and I know I do. Especially after a hard few weeks.
Hematite Bracelet
Sometimes we do get a piece of jewellery, like last month with the beautiful necklace.
This month we have a hematite bracelet that is quite small beads which I prefer as I have very slender wrists. It fits me really well and doesn’t fall off. A problem I have is how small my hands and wrists are, most bracelets don’t fit me. So I will be looking for more!
You could even wear this as an ankle bracelet to keep you grounded.
Mabon Plaque
We have recently been getting plaques with the boxes and have one for most of the sabbats so far.
These are perfect for your garden, you can put them around your garden for all year round. That is what I am doing with them.
This month it has a beautiful owl on with a bountiful horn of harvest-able items They are all hand made, hand painted and perfect for any witchy garden.
Bamboo Incense Cones
When I opened the box, I could smell these right away! Stamford are one of my favourite brands for incense as they smell beautiful and don’t have that fire scent that some do. You know that lingering acrid smell? Stamford don’t have that.
Bamboo is great for cleansing, you can cleanse your tools and things like tarot or oracle cards with them.
Candle Tin
I admittedly love a candle tin and the one I got is the sandalwood one.
Now I really do enjoy the scent of sandalwood and this is just simply beautiful.
I do collect tins and keep little trinkets in so once I have finished with this candle, I will be using the tin for that purpose.
Overall Thoughts
Again, a wonderfully curated box and I always enjoy the Freya’s Cauldron The Spell Keepers Chest subscription.
I still love the items even after all this time and over time, I am sure there will be even more items I adore.
What I love about this box is the learning material and wide range of goods that you receive.
It really does build up your collection and even after a few months, I have loads!
Learning about new items all the time, such as herbs or crystals.
Some boxes don;t go into such detail about things like this and you can keep all of the paperwork to put in a booklet or write it out for future use.
Freya’s Cauldron really know what they are doing and honestly, I highly recommend this box!
